Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Insurance Coordinator. As an Insurance Coordinator, you will be responsible for verifying insurance coverage, processing claims, and ensuring accurate billing for our dental office. Your knowledge of medical terminology, coding, and insurance procedures will be essential in providing excellent service to our patients.

Duties:
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for patients
- Process insurance claims and submit necessary documentation
- Review and interpret medical records to ensure accurate coding
- Collaborate with dental providers to ensure proper documentation for claims
- Follow up on outstanding claims and resolve any billing discrepancies
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling patient information
- Assist patients with insurance-related inquiries and provide guidance on coverage options
- Stay updated on changes in insurance policies, coding guidelines, and managed care requirements
- Collaborate with the billing department to reconcile accounts and resolve any billing issues

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred
- Previous experience working in a dental office or medical setting is highly desirable
- Proficiency in medical terminology, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding, and insurance verification processes
- Familiarity with managed care plans and insurance billing procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret medical records
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, providers, and insurance companies
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
