Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Part-Time Wine Sales Associate to join our dynamic team at Sonoma's Best Wine Shop. This role is ideal for someone with a deep appreciation for wines and a desire to create exceptional customer experiences. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to share their love and knowledge of wine with customers, helping them select wines that match their tastes and occasions.

Responsibilities:

• Assist customers in selecting wines by providing expert advice and recommendations based on their preferences and needs.
• Conduct wine tastings and educational sessions for customers, offering insights into the different varieties, regions, and production processes.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the wine inventory, including new arrivals, vintages, and promotional items.
• Manage wine displays and ensure the sales floor is organized, visually appealing, and stocked.
• Process sales transactions and handle cash and credit payments accurately.
• Collaborate with the team to meet sales targets and contribute to promotional strategies and events.
• Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues with a positive and professional approach.
• Assist in inventory management tasks, including receiving stock, conducting inventory counts, and restocking shelves.
• Stay informed about trends in the wine industry and share insights with both customers and team members.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• A passion for wine and a desire to learn more about the industry.
• Previous experience in retail or sales, particularly in the wine or hospitality industry, is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage customers and build rapport.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Basic computer skills for completing sales transactions and inventory management.
• Physical ability to lift and carry wine cases up to 40 pounds.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.09 - $21.79 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
