Middle School Math Teacher
The Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford is seeking an outstanding Math teacher to join our faculty for the 2024-2025 School Year.
Schechter uses a progressive multi-age model approach to education, and our school is guided by Schechter’s mission and core values of Chochmah (Wisdom), Lev Tov (Good Heartedness), and K’lal Yisrael (Unity of the Jewish People), Kehillah (Community), Mitzvot (Jewish Practice). Our faculty believes in the innate abilities of each student, and works in partnership with other members of the faculty and families to help each child grow.
The Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford is an independent Jewish day school located in the beautiful New England town of West Hartford, Connecticut. It is accredited by the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools. Schechter offers an exceptional, forward-thinking, student-centered education from early childhood through eighth grade. The Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford, was founded in 1971 by a visionary group of pioneer leaders whose goal was to establish a Jewish day school that would serve Jewish students and families in the Greater Hartford area. Now in our fifth decade, Schechter continues to fulfill its mission to provide an integrated curriculum in General and Judaic Studies creating lifelong learners, critical thinkers and passionate leaders who are connected and committed to the Jewish community and the world at large. Schechter enrolls students from the age of two until the end of eighth grade in... three divisions: Early Childhood (from ages two through Kindergarten), Elementary (first through fifth grade), and Middle (sixth through eighth grade). Welcoming students of diverse social, cultural, religious and economic backgrounds, we are dedicated to providing individual attention to each student and educating the whole child, intellectually, spiritually, socially and physically. Our intimate environment allows our outstanding faculty to provide individualized attention and guidance. The faculty works in close partnership with parents by promoting regular communication, classroom involvement and family learning experiences. Schechter parents are involved in every aspect of school life, creating a strong sense of community. Solomon Schechter is located on its beautiful Buena Vista campus in West Hartford. The facilities are air conditioned and include classrooms with networked computers and Smart boards, science lab, art and music studios; small group learning spaces; a beautiful library, computer room, gymnasium, theater, multipurpose room and outdoor playgrounds and athletic fields.
