We are proud to assist them in their search for a dedicated and experienced Pharmacy Certified IV Technician with Inventory Management expertise to join their team.
Job Title: IV / Infusion Pharmacy Technician
Type: Local, Contract to Hire
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 13-week Contract with potential for permanent hire
Start Date: ASAP
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 6:00 pm (no weekends)
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and dispense intravenous medications and therapies, including IVs, TPNs, and other IV medications, in compliance with established protocols and industry standards.
- Collaborate closely with pharmacists and healthcare providers to ensure accurate patient records and effective documentation of IV procedures.
- Lead the management of pharmacy inventory, including IV medications, supplies, and equipment.
- Conduct routine inventory audits, reorder supplies proactively, and maintain precise documentation of stock levels.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of efficient inventory control strategies to optimize stock turnover.
- Provide training and mentorship to new pharmacy staff members, particularly in IV administration and inventory management procedures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience working in an infusion setting, with a strong background in IV administration.
- Experience in a cancer center or with chemotherapy IV administration is highly desirable.
- Proficient in working in a fast-paced cleanroom environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management software, preferably CareTend (upgraded version of CPR ).
- Active TX Pharmacy Technician license, PTCB certification, and ACPE sterile compounding certificate required.
