At Tahiti Village Resort & Spa we are looking for energetic, professional team player with excellent communications skills. Positive attitude to deliver great customer experience and support our mission to create memorable experiences for ours guests.

Role:

A Utility is responsible for assisting and supporting the housekeeping department. They are expected to deliver excellent service to our teams and our guest.

Responsibilities: 

  • Arriving on time for all scheduled shifts in proper uniform, including nametags and with a great Smile.
  • Seize radio and assignment sheet every morning 
  • Review assignment sheet and update completed assignments
  • Clean carpet in assigned guestrooms
  • Remove stains, scuff marks, and dust from baseboards, ledges and corners.
  • Polish, restore, seal, finish & maintain all flooring.
  • Complete extraction and spotting of carpets
  • Place odor machine in units when needed
  • Repair & maintain vacuums
  • Wash bonnet pads daily
  • Use various machines such as carpet extractors, scrubbers (ride-on, walk-behind, and bonnets), burnishes, floor machines and spotting machines.
  • Sweep and mop all assigned area staircase, elevators, glass doors and vending machines removing debris (paper, gum, cigarettes, etc.).
  • Ensure security of hotel property, by door being locked.
  • Use proper safety protocol when moving heavy furniture to clean the area underneath.
  • Conduct bio-hazard clean-up.
  • Handle guest/ owners complaints by ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Turn in radio and worksheet at the end of the day 
  • Ensure preventive care of equipment and supplies 
  • Complete all special assignments including deep cleans, but not limited to clean ceiling fans, air conditioning vent grids, spot clean walls and door frames, for all guestrooms, remove dust, spots, and smears from mirrors, ledges, and frames , stains and marks from all baseboards, ledges, and corners.
  • Adhere to all appearance and uniform standards
  • Maintain an open line of communication with the department
  • Report all facility issues 
  •  Comply with all safety protocol
  • Assist in receiving supply 
  • Operate hand trucks and flatbed carts to move equipment to assigned work areas.
  • Must be able to maintain mobility and work in varying temperatures (Indoors and Outdoors)
  • Ability to accept performance feedback in a professional manner.

Requirements

  • Six (6) months experience of previous experience working on floor surfaces using buffing and including scrubbers or similar equipment.
  • Basic knowledge on handling devices and radios.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, holiday and weekends.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Capability to understand fundamental English.
  • Working knowledge of chemicals/ cleaning supplies including Safety Data Sheet and OSHA regulations, preferable. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to bend, kneeling and stretching most of the working day.
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Able to work in areas containing dust, varying noise and temperature levels, lighting, vibration and air quality.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds constantly.
