Position Objective To provide technical solutions and services and manage/apply technology footprint for specific projects. The position includes accountability for strategic system and application architecture plans, technology design and lifecycle, and information integrity by promoting reuse through enterprise architecture processes/reviews and standard compliance practices. Dimensions Find the technical solution for specific use cases affecting business functionality Solves problems by giving appropriate workarounds for time-critical business issues and plans for long-term permanent solutions Uses process expertise tools for code review, continuous integration, and continuous deployment This position will interface with ITS staff at Solar & Caterpillar organizations and business partners to ensure IT systems' integrity, reliability, and quality comply with Industry Architectural standards. Assists senior leaders with details of the system and development updates Nature and Scope This position requires defining detailed design architecture for projects and transforming them into deliverables in code, documents, and common reusable technical artifacts. Maintains close liaison with Business/customers and vendors to ensure business needs and perception of value are met Find the technical solution (hands-on) for specific use cases affecting business functionality Lead design and implementation for medium to complex projects Utilize collaborative design methods to deliver robust customer/end-user process requirements and satisfaction. Provide guidance to balance these requirements with schedule, staff, and budget constraints Collaborate with multiple teams to ensure a shared vision and strategic execution Expert in Enterprise Architectural skills like Architecture modeling, building block design, applications, role design, and systems integration Principal Accountabilities Compliance & Process Ensures Enterprise Architecture processes/reviews and standard compliance practices are followed and encourages the team to follow it Ensure Business and Security compliances are covered in the software development process Utilize collaborative design methods to deliver robust customer/end-user process requirements and satisfaction. Provide guidance to balance these requirements with schedule, staff, and budget constraints. Uses process expertise tools for code review, continuous integration, and continuous deployment Designs and implements processes, or process improvements, to aid in the development and support Works independently on complex processes and modules that may be used by one or more programs or systems or in support of infrastructure component change management Work with business and vendor to ensure the right trade-offs are made to meet both business process and software requirements Leadership Provides expert opinion and counsel to business and IT personnel, management, and project teams on the enterprise's most complex Architectural aspects of IT services. This may include applications programming, development methods, and commercial off-the-shelf solutions Mentors and coaches junior team members Trains Business Users on tools, technologies, and processes Leads continuous integration and continuous deployment of activities relating to integration and development Leads the implementation of recommended improvements to existing methods. Leads documentation, training, and usability efforts Determine and suggest goals for areas of expertise Decision Making Evaluates, recommends, and lead the implementation of process and procedure changes or implementation of new solutions Solves problems by giving appropriate workarounds for time-critical business issues and plans for long-term permanent solutions Sets priorities and establishes a work plan to complete broadly defined assignments and achieve desired results. Participates in brainstorming sessions focused on developing new approaches to meeting quality goals in the measure(s) stated. Participates and provides feedback in Technical Interviews to onboard new members to the team Qualifications Required Qualifications: 12 years of previous experience in software engineering and Architecture Strong demonstratable experience delivering product and enterprise architecture for enterprise-scale solutions in public cloud and hybrid eco-systems Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent Motivated self-starter compelled to innovate and execute their workload without prompting from supervisor Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Previous experience with Project Management (Waterfall, Agile, etc.) Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in a related field In-depth understanding and experience in supporting Infor applications architecture including Baan 5c, Infor LN, Infor OS SQL data modeling Certification in TOGAF or a similar framework is highly desirable Knowledge of Solar's business, model, processes, and organization Summary Pay Range: $117,940.00 - $176,910.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
