The Solar Engineer executes engineering and technical tasks of solar projects starting from the early stage site evaluation, to the design process, through completion which includes submitting stamped drawings to the permitting office for permitting. The Solar Engineer is a key member of the project development team and will report directly to the Lead Engineering who will be assigning daily work.
Day to day duties will differ based on demand but may include any or all of the following:
*In-person site visits to projects being scoped for solar to measure and obtain details of existing roof structures.
*Designs 3D models and 2D drawings in SketchUp.
*Organizes, applies, and submits project documentation and drawings to local permitting office.This includes managing the project through the permitting cycle.
*Manages assigned projects by maintaining project deadlines and performing quality assurance audits. This also includes the ordering and tracking of project specific materials and scheduling site visits, installations, or inspections.
Qualifications
*Preferred ability to draw using SketchUp or AutoCAD.
*String ability to problem solve
*Proficiency with MS Office Suite
*Strong written and verbal communication skills.
*Ability to work in fast paced environment.
*Organized with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple design projects.
*Engineering Degree Preferred
