The Field Engineer executes engineering and technical tasks of solar projects starting from the early stage site evaluation, to the design process, through completion. The Field Engineer is a key member of the project development team and will report directly to the Lead Engineering who will be assigning daily work.
Day to day duties will differ based on demand but may include any or all of the following:
60% - In-person site visits for projects being scoped for solar to measure and obtain details of existing roof structure. On site evaluations for battery systems, EV chargers, and specialty installs.
40% - manages projects in permitting office.This includes applying for extra documentation, responding to reviewer comments, keeping projects on desired timeline.
*Manages assigned projects by maintaining project deadlines and performing quality assurance audits. This also includes the ordering and tracking of project specific materials, scheduling site visits, installations, or inspections.
Qualifications
*Construction Experience and Journeyman Experience (highly preferred)
*English and Spanish fluency preferred
*Preferred ability to draw using SketchUp or AutoCAD.
*String ability to problem solve
*Proficiency with MS Office Suite
*Strong written and verbal communication skills.
*Ability to work in fast paced environment.
*Organized with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple design projects.
*Engineering Degree Preferred
