Job Description

Software Tech Enterprises, Inc., founded in 2002 is a Management Consulting and Information Technology firm that specializes in consulting and providing professional Information Technology (IT) services to the Federal Government, State and Local Government, and the private sector.

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Replication Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be a key resource on the team to provide guidance and support to junior level resources. Bringing additional skills other than Replication technology such as ETL, Ansible, Python, and experience working with DB2 mainframe databases with secure you as a major contributor the team.

Key Required Skills:

Strong experience with replication, scripting, RDBMS experience, and excellent communication skills.

Position Description

• Be a key resource for replication to enhance the digital modernization efforts for our customer.
• Attend all customer technical discussions/design/development meetings and provide technical inputs to further enhance the code quality/process.
• Provide guidance/support/training to other junior/mid-level staff.
• Impact functional strategy by developing new solutions, processes, standards, or operational plans that position our client competitively in the marketplace.
• All other duties as assigned or directed.

Skills Requirements:

Basic Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Master's or Doctorate degree may substitute for required experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.
• Proven experience with data acquisition or replication.

Required Skills:

• Demonstrated experience in log-based Replication technology to replicate data between different DBMS and platforms.
• Demonstrated Experience in replicating data from DB2 z/OS, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Experience in the installation, configuration, upgrades, and day to day operation of replication technology.
• Experience in the data transformation efforts from legacy to new and alternative technologies.
• Hands on experience working on Linux environment and strong scripting experience in shell scripting.
• Experience in acquiring and replicating data from various legacy and distributed databases including flat file replication.
• Experience in automating replication tasks and processes using batch or bash scripting.
• Provide 24x7 on-call rotation and weekend work as needed.
• Excellent Communication skills.
• Strong understanding of source control systems.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (IIDR) CDC replication technologies.
• Working with Git and Bitbucket for source control.
• Strong experience with Python.
• Experience working with DB2 mainframe database.
• Experience working with PostgreSQL database and logical replication.
• Experience with IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (IIDR) CDC replication technologies.
• Experience with ETL tools and understanding ETL functionality.
• Working knowledge of Ansible and Ansible best practices.
• AWS hands-on experience.
• Experience administering cloud solutions.
• Experience working on Agile projects and understanding Agile terminology.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field with 3 years of experience

Security Clearance:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
