Software Guidance & Assistance is Hiring a Data Catalog Engineer/Analyst Near Tampa, FL

Job Details

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Data Catalog Engineer/Analyst for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in Tampa, FL.

Responsibilities:
Sitting within Firm's Operations & Technology organization, the Chief Information Office plays a critical role in delivering data-focused technology solutions to drive Firm's businesses activities. Specifically, the Data Engineering practice, known as Information Services Group (ISG), has a responsibility to provide centralized data and operations platforms spanning reference data (accounts, documents, securities, pricing, corporate actions, legal agreements), transactions, and lending services. In addition to supporting domain-specific data and operational requirements, at a broader level, ISG provides the tooling driving Data Governance activities for Firm. Data Catalog is a centralized metadata solution to be leveraged by up to 8,000 applications to store, govern, and access metadata for their systems. Metadata includes the information about the data stored and used by an application, such as data dictionaries, data models, data lineage between systems, business glossaries, quality rules, data ownership and authorization, etc. This information is essential to promote knowledge sharing and transfer by interested parties, and to ensure compliance with Data Governance policies set by Firm's Chief Data Office. Beyond supporting data discovery, the Data Catalog tools, and standardized metadata are systemically consumed and used to drive data transfer in multiple formats between systems within Firm, as well as externally to Cloud-based solutions used by Firm's clients.

  • Build relationships with end-user groups to promote increased usage of Data Catalog capabilities and solicit new use-cases.
  • Partner with project management team members to handover new use-case requirements from existing users, and to introduce new users to Data Catalog through guided product demonstrations.
  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis queries.
  • Design reports (metrics, operational, quality, etc.) for internal and external consumption.
  • Coordinate and communicate system changes as part of release management duties.
Required Skills:
