Overview

Soft Tech Consulting is seeking a highly motivated, innovative individual to fill the role of Databse Administrator. The candidate will provide database administration for a government client with a cloud presence. The designated candidate for this position will join a collaborative team environment, providing database administration support and guidance to support the successful delivery of the Cloud services and provide effective communication to all levels of staff for reporting system environment status. The place of performance for this contract is onsite in Suitland, MD.

Responsibilities

• Installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining database(s). This includes updating processes, data flows, and objects.
• Developing and performing data/database backup and recovery routines for data integrity and recoverability.
• Provide support for license subscriptions compatible with data governance, data linage and data-centric security software, as well as i2 and Cognos Analytics.
• Support geospatial intelligence data within AWS UC2S, SC2S and TSC2S.
• Propose performance measurements, statistics, and system logs and maintain system up/down time tracking mechanisms for government consumption via communication outage reports. Examples of performance measures include volume and frequency of data to be processed in each mode, order, and type of operations.
• Build new data feeds or enhance existing data feeds to support data sharing.
• Prepare, condition, and transform data sets for ingestion and the actual ingestion of data sets into the cloud environments.
• Ensure seamless web-enabled enterprise system and data interoperability between the Intel systems and AWS Components.
• Coordinate system management and data connectivity with other product lines.
• Configure connections to additional data sources and provide means to display information Integrate and connect new data sources for display in the current application and data as a service platform.
• Introduce and integrate new technologies, data feeds and data sets into existing AWS environments.
• Analyze database requirements of assigned projects.
• Analyze and determine information needs and elements, database relationships and attributes, proposed manipulation, data flow and storage requirements, and data output and reporting capabilities.
• Apply knowledge of database management systems to coordinate maintenance and changes to databases.
• Test and implement changes or new database designs.
• Write logical and physical database descriptions, including location, space, access method, and security requirements.
• Provide direction to programmers and analysts as required to affect changes to database management systems.
• Provide answers to database questions.
• Knowledge of and ability to monitor databases and to analyze and organize data and apply new technology designs andprograms.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or higher in Information Technology/Cyber or a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Experience with AWS Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS).
• Experience with managing data in a Classified environment.
• Experience with data warehousing tools and approaches.
• A , Security , CASP , or CISSP certification (or comparable certification) required.
