Soft Tech Consulting is Hiring a System Administrator I Near Alexandria, VA

Overview

Soft Tech Consulting is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill the role of a System Administrator I for an existing government client. The place of performance is in Alexandria, VA.

MUST HAVE TOP SECRET CLEARANCE WITH UPGRADE TO SCI REQUIRED

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, manage, maintain, and support Microsoft Windows (all versions), Active Directory, local applications, servers, workstations and related technologies
  • Respond to monitored alerts to quickly identify trouble source and implement resolution
  • Conduct system audits and data backups
  • Assist with design and implementation of technical security technology and IT projects as directed
  • Must be able to provide periodic 24/7 on call support.
  • Support the analysis and resolution of system issues
  • Support development and maintenance of system documentation
  • Support all aspects of the system environment including systems, network and security.
  • Provide support developing and maintaining a for a virtual environment

Qualifications

  • A degree in the field of computer science or a related discipline is preferred
  • Post- Secondary Education and or combination of education and experience
  • Technical certification is a plus (e.g., COMP TIA Security , A or related disciplines). 
  • 1 or more years of direct experience within a WAN/LAN environment.
  • Must be able to work independently, is capable of applying critical thinking to solve complex technical problems and function as a reliable team member.
  • Minimum 2 years of applicable experience
  • Experience working in a virtual environment; VMware experience highly desired
  • Experience with Linux highly desired
  • Have an understanding of enterprise level server/workstation systems.
  • Experience performing system audits
  • Experience in designing and implementing technical security technology
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Able to work in a team environment with little to no supervision
  • High attention to detail. organized and works well in a structured environment
  • Able to foster strong relationships with users and clients.
