Job Description:
Student Transit, a subsidiary of Sodrel Truck Lines, is looking for a Bus Routing Specialist to join our team at our Richmond, Indiana location.
The primary responsibilities will be to:

• Ensure that all routes have a bus and driver assigned and are routed in a safe and efficient manner
• Assist drivers via two-way radios when they have questions regarding routes, traffic concerns, road construction, vehicle problems, or delivery of students.
• Ensure that all bus runs are covered, drivers have reported for work, and that buses depart the lot on time.
• Formulate bus routes, and adjust as necessary.
• Keep computerized routes updated and in good order.
• Assist in answering the telephone and provide follow-up to questions and concerns.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of two years experience in transportation/logistics service operations.
• Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in written form, with administrators, staff and the community.
• General knowledge of district bus routes, schools, and residential streets.
• Ability to write reports and complete work consistent with the duties of the position.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, as well as Google drive, mail, sheets, etc
• Excellent communication, organization and time management skills.
