Must be able to work weekends when principals reside primarily during the summer season. Accommodations: Private apartment is provided within the property separate from the main residence. Fully renovated apartment; accommodations are available year-round. Hours: 8 – 10 hours per day Benefits: Health benefits full benefits package available (vacation, holiday pay, 401k, and other perks) A private couple seeks to hire a local and experienced House Manager to support the management of their formal estate in Newport, RI. The ideal candidate will be a team player, with a “can-do” and upbeat attitude, and experience working in formal settings while providing white-glove service to its principals. Must be able to oversee the overall interior of the residence, anything that is needed, and support Mrs. and Mr. with various projects (wardrobe management, errands, help with organizing dinner and events). Must be local to the Newport, RI area or must have had former experience working in the area. Responsibilities:
Oversee the interior of a formal household: 30,000-square-foot French neoclassical-style mansion
Managing the interior household team (Housekeeper team)
Assist with interior maintenance: Making sure everything is set perfectly before the family's arrival
Assist with keeping track of any repairs or maintenance issues within the residence
Conducting inventory procurement of all household supplies as needed, including grocery shopping, personal, and floral arrangements
Oversee any vendors for interior repairs
Assist with any special events and parties
Oversee interior renovations and construction projects
Support principals with wardrobe management and organizing
Help with simple tech support (Wi-Fi, sound systems, and smart TVs)
Providing excellent service to principals and guests
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years related experience working and supporting private estates
Excellent references from both current and previous employers
Adept in managing and supervising household staff
Prioritize executive tasks and multi-task effectively
Must have experience/training in formal service
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Must be comfortable working around children and pets
Proficiency in all areas of Microsoft Office and Mac OSX and related programs
Professional mindset and the utmost discretion
Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
Flexibility with hours and scheduling
Valid driver’s license
Valid US work authorization
Must follow all CDC recommendations against Covid-19 and vaccinations
