We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer to join our team. SoFi Invest is SoFi's new investment platform that includes our market-leading robo-advisor, and online brokerage (stock, ETF and mutual funds trading).
On our team, you will be in the middle of it all - architecting our system, designing solutions, implementing functionality, squashing bugs, maintaining the health of our code, and continually growing as an engineer. The ideal candidate is both forward-thinking and hands-on, has a strong sense of ownership and drive for delivery, and is a good mentor and co-worker. Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and testing of system components/services, code and design reviews
• Shape the architecture of our product
• Deliver highly available and scalable services in a production environment
• Mentor other engineers, support the technical culture, and help grow the team
• Generate ideas for new initiatives and technologies
• Communicate with project leads, product managers and other software developers

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree, ideally in a technical field, but we understand great engineers come from all sorts of different backgrounds and also consider relevant work experience
• 8 years programming experience, ideally on a modern stack
• We have a modern tech stack of React/Flutter / Java/Kotlin / Spring / PostgreSQL, but you don't have to be an expert in any of these. 6 years Java, Kotlin or Scala programming experience and an understanding of relational databases and ORMs is sufficient.
• Willingness to roll up your sleeves, collaborate with others and get stuff done
• Strong sense of responsibility; driving a project from inception to completion
• Affinity for solving problems and shipping impactful features, not polishing perfect code or architecture
• Experience working in a collaborative coding environment (and git specifically), refining designs together, working through code reviews and managing pull requests
• Bonus
• Worked with trading and/or exchange systems
• Familiarity with the FIX Protocol
• Experience scaling highly available, mission critical systems
• Experience with AWS infrastructure and deploying applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (gradle, git, automated testing and deployments)
• History of working with a cloud-based microservice architecture and distributed service communications

Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and location.

Pay range: $84.92 - $145.96
Payment frequency: Hourly
