New Transaction Execution

• Assist in the marketing, origination, and execution of lender financing transactions from alternative asset managers.
• Assist with due diligence (accurate screening and analysis of lender financing opportunities).
• Assist in the production of credit papers and presentations.
• Assist in the syndication process of MML transactions, including drafting of syndication and credit rating agency materials and addressing investor inquiries.

Asset Approval Requests

Perform thorough evaluations of new assets that are pledged to the facilities, including (but not limited to) the following:

• A review of the manager’s Investment Committee Memo and any ancillary reports / documents (quality of earnings reports, market studies, credit agreements, etc.).
• A review / analysis of the nature of EBITDA adjustments (non-recurring, pro forma, etc.) to determine the “actual” leverage of the asset.
• An independent analysis of trading comparables / precedent transactions to validate the purchase price / loan-to-value.
• Participation in meetings or calls with the respective deal teams to dig deeper into the credit(s).
• The analysis will be presented to SG’s Credit Risk Management Team, along with a recommendation on the eligibility / treatment of the asset under the MML Advance Rate framework.

Portfolio Monitoring / Other

• Monitor the performance of the collateral for re-evaluation events and borrowing base adjustments.
• This role must be performed in accordance with the compliance rules inherent to the business, both internal procedures and external regulatory rules.
• The candidate must contribute to and promote a positive working environment with a team-first attitude; the candidate should aspire to be an advocate and model representative of the bank

• 3 years of work experience in Leveraged Finance
• Working knowledge of investment banking / corporate finance
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, deadline-focused environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• If not already obtained, must complete Series 7/79 and Series 63 certifications within five months of hire.
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Language(s) English

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of cash flow modeling and analysis
• Knowledge of corporate finance valuation
• Formal credit training a plus
• Information/Database systems management
