Youth Soccer Coach- Soccer Shots Medina/Akron/Canton/Youngstown
Part-time position; flexible from 15-30 hours/week
Compensation: $17-$20 per hour

Soccer Shots is an engaging children's soccer program for children ages 2-8 with a focus on character development. Our caring team positively impacts children's lives on and off the field through best-in-class coaching, curriculum and communication.

WHAT YOU NEED:
Soccer Shots employees must have a passion and love for working with children. They should have reliable transportation, preferably early childhood education experience, and must be at least 18 years of age. 
RESPONSIBILITIES (can include but are not limited to):Coaching and Coaching Leadership
  • Safety-conscious, whose #1 priority is the safety of children under their care.
  • Caring, engaging with each child through specific and positive affirmation.
  • Organized, who plan ahead and are systematic in routine, conducting each session according to the lesson plan and working with children to maintain appropriate order for the age group.
  • Responsible, who are committed to doing what is expected of them as the coach and "face" of Soccer Shots.
  • Energetic, bringing Soccer Shots to life by creating a fun and exciting atmosphere that leads a child to smile and participate.
  • Commitment to excellence, quality, and safety through participation in the game of soccer
Leadership/Management:
  • Execute the overall scheduled Soccer Shots season
  • Participate in interview/evaluation process
Sales/Marketing/Customer Service:
  • Run Soccer Shots demonstrations
  • Attend promotional events
 Administrative/Support:
  • Responsible for maintaining and submitting an attendance roster at each session and upload to appropriate interface 
 Professional Development:
  • Attend team meetings and all-staff meetings, as available
 
PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT/WORKING REQUIREMENTS:
Functions in a temperature-controlled office environment a portion of the time. Work requires the ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout an extended workday (8–10 hours); position requires the use of fingers, hands, and arms on a consistent basis for keyboarding and phone work; position may need to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion; excellent vision skills (with or without correction) are required. The standard office environment has moderate noise levels associated with computer equipment, customers, and phone conversations. The position will have the need to be exposed to an inside/outside sports environment.
Functions in an inside/outside sports environment a minimum of 50% of the time. Work requires the ability to run, stop, stoop, bend (a physical, exercise type regimen) in a minimum of 40-minute increments per session. Position requires use of hands, arms, legs, and feet and may include lifting up to 50 pounds on occasion. Moderate gymnasium-like noises are associated with this position as well as excellent vision skills (with or without correction.)

  1. Every Soccer Shots coach must complete our comprehensive training program to receive certification.
  2. All Soccer Shots coaches are trained in the use of developmentally appropriate techniques.
  3. Coaches are routinely evaluated and undergo ongoing training.

  1. You will provide a weekly summary to the parents of each child as to what they are learning at Soccer Shots.
  2. We proactively communicate cancellations due to weather or other circumstances.

We use expert-approved curriculum that aligns with early childhood education standards
  1. Our developmentally appropriate curriculum places an emphasis on character development and skill building.
  2. Our program is created under the guidance of childhood education specialists, professional soccer players and experienced and certified soccer coaches.
  3. We constantly re-evaluate and update our curriculum to stay current with childhood education standards.
