What we are looking for in a Cable Technician:

  • Proven experience as a cable technician or similar role
  • Familiarity with switches, firewalls and networks (LAN, WAN)
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all clients and coworkers
  • Past work experience in a high-traffic customer service setting
  • Excellent customer service skills that exceed customers’ expectations
  • Strong problem solving and research skills
  • Continual awareness of changes that directly affect other team members and customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a working knowledge of a wide range of applications and services
  • Ensure professional attitude and appearance always

What our Cable Technicians do:

  • Assist with support requests for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email.
  • Provide on-site support, to include providing hardware, software, and networking support for telecommunications devices.
  • Change, add and install equipment as needed. Maintain accurate inventory.
  • Test and certify cabling and telecommunications equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Track detailed information about each customer’s service needs in an incident management system, document diagnostic steps and communications as they troubleshoot and resolve the reported problem.
  • Adhere to established computer and network policies and procedures to ensure the security and health of systems; give feedback to aid in continuously developing policies and procedures that meet current reality.
  • Ensure any observed threat to the telecommunications/network environment is reported promptly to senior technical staff and management.
  • In conjunction with senior staff, work with software vendors, and other outside vendors to purchase new equipment, troubleshoot and resolve problems as needed
  • Carry out research independently and in collaboration with senior staff to continually remain updated on changes in technology, in accordance with the policies and procedures of the company.
  • Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction in a high-traffic customer service setting in every step of problem resolution.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all clients and coworkers.
  • Work directly with customers to resolve their problems by gathering information, diagnosing customer’s needs, conducting research to find correct solutions, and confirming that customers can access their required services and applications.
  • Must be able to recognize questions that go beyond the scope of services provided by the Telecommunications Field Technician and make accurate referrals to the appropriate team members.
  • Pass on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal team.
  • Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures.
  • Participate in On-Call rotation.
