Job Knowledge, Core Competencies, and Expectations

• Able to promote and teach private and group lessons to juniors and adults.
• Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations.

Job Summary

Assist Director of Pickleball and Director of Racquet Sports in management of all facilities and activities related to pickleball.

Essential Functions

Leadership

• Act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees and promotes a positive culture.

Operations

• Helps keep pickleball facility clean and in proper order.
• Manages Tennis Shop in Tennis Professional’s absence.
• Assists with special pickleball and tennis events and tournaments.

Pickleball Expertise

• Provides group and individual pickleball lessons as assigned by Director of Pickleball.
• Promote and coordinate adult in-house leagues and pickleball socials.
• Conduct individual lessons and group clinics
• Communicates with Director of Pickleball and Director of Tennis to schedule and publicize club pickleball and tennis events.

Administration

• Answers phones in the Tennis Shop, books courts and lessons and invoices members for purchases.
• Attends staff meetings.

Other Functions

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• College degree preferred but not required.
• Collegiate team experience desirable, preferably with a 4.5 or above rating.
• Two-to-three-year competitive playing experience and/or pickleball supervisory experience.
• Experience running junior development programs.
• Knowledge of court maintenance.

Licenses and Special Requirements

• Certification with PPR and/or USPTA pickleball.
• Player ability equal to 4.5 or above.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Ability to control natural swing speed during instruction or matches with inexperienced players.
• Sufficient stamina to tolerate hot and cold weather for several consecutive hours.
• Continuous standing, walking, running, bending, stooping and repetitive actions.
• Frequent use of light machinery and hand-held tools.
• Frequent lifting and moving of objects up to 50 pounds.
