OBJECTIVE SUMMARY: Perform administrative duties under the direction of physicians. Administrative duties will primarily include managing refill requests, completing Prior Authorizations, and supporting completion of Epic In-Basket items when needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
  • Complete Prior Authorizations for health plans.
  • Completing In-Basket requests in Epic with support from the clinical support staff and providers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: High School Diploma, training in vocational school

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Need one or two years of on-the-job experience

QUALIFICATIONS: Medical Assistant License

SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of the English language including meaning and spelling of words, rules, of composition and grammar
  • Knowledge of the information needed to complete refill requests, Prior Authorizations, and knowledge of clinical requirements to complete in-basket requests.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Good working conditions. Clean, well-lit, air conditioned or heated area. Possible exposure to infectious disease while working in a clinical environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires being sensitive to others’ needs and feelings and being understanding and helpful on the job. Job requires being honest and ethical. Requires maintaining composure, keeping emotions in check, controlling anger, and avoiding aggressive behavior, even in very difficult situations.

Eligibility Requirements - Employees regularly scheduled at least 20 hours per week.

Employee Dependents - Your legal spouse or domestic partner, Dependent children until age 26.

Waiting Period - 1st of the month following 30 days from your date of hire.
