This opportunity is in the Information Technology Department.

Role Description:

In the role of Director, Product Management, you will be part of a dynamic team that leads Safety National’s Agile Product Management team through an exciting phase of growth and innovation. You will work closely with key stakeholders, including the Operations Committee, Management Operations Committee, Information Technology, Executive/Senior management and various business teams. You will be instrumental in shaping and executing our product strategy utilizing the Scaled Agile Framework for enterprises (SAFe), driving the enablement of new and enhanced business capabilities through innovative solutions. Your effort to deliver new and enhanced products efficiently and effectively will be felt throughout Safety National.

Your day-to-day responsibilities as the Director, Product Management will include overseeing the entire product lifecycle, collaborating with cross functional teams, defining product roadmaps, and ensuring the alignment of product initiatives with business objectives. You may also be assigned various projects like, establishing standards and best practices related to the Product Management discipline at Safety National that are consistent with industry standards.

This position reports directly to the AVP – Portfolio and Product Management, which contains both the product Management and Lean Portfolio Management units. This position also collaborates with the AVP – Portfolio and Product Management in establishing the vision and strategy of the corporate Product Management function.

The ideal candidate is someone who has a passion for business agility, a proven track record in leading product management of technology products, and the ability to forge meaningful relationships and build trust across the organization. Some of the essentials skills required of you in this role are, a familiarity with the implementation and use of various system development methodologies including in-depth knowledge of the SAFe framework for business agility, demonstrated ability to define and prioritize feature sets, balancing customer needs, technical feasibility and business priorities. Additionally, we need someone who has experience in managing teams through a diverse group of concurrent projects and has a sense of business and technological acumen.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or appropriate combination of education and experience
  • SAFe POPM or similar SAFe Certification is required

Required Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years’ experience leading and/or managing product teams in an Agile methodology
  • Familiarity with the implementation and use of the various system development methodologies including in-depth knowledge of the SAFe framework for business agility.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and prioritize feature sets, balancing customer needs, technical feasibility, and business priorities.
  • Familiarity with all aspects of project management and understands the importance of executing in conformance with the approved Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) and System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience managing teams through a diverse group of concurrent projects.
  • Must be able to train and mentor business analysis professionals.
  • Must be proficient in verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, displaying good management skills.
  • Must display a focus on business/IT relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or other post-graduate education
  • Knowledge and experience utilizing Business Process Modeling (BPM) tools and techniques is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools and techniques is a plus.
  • Experience in the insurance industry is a plus.

In our vision to be First with Co-Workers, compensation is only one piece of the comprehensive total rewards package we offer. The target salary range for this position is $141,000 to $224,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
