Smuttynose Brewing Co. is Hiring a Territory Sales Manager Near Hampton, NH

Territory Sales Manager-NH and VT

Finestkind Brewing, the proud brewers of Smuttynose Beer and Island District, is excited to add to their sales team in the New Hampshire/Vermont territory.

Role Summary

The primary role for the Territory Sales Manager will be to be responsible for maintaining and increasing on-premise and off-premise sales by maintaining relationships with distributors, personally calling on accounts, and executing marketing initiatives. Territory Sales Manager must execute a sales plan developed and approved by management. Specific tasks and activities required will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Pre-planning your weekly account / promotion calendar for approval by VP of Sales. Planning shall include specific objectives for each account visit and shall be documented in the CRM application.
  • You will be required to complete 35-40 account calls per week, introducing our portfolio of products and securing placements. You'll also need to set up promotions and displays. You will document completion of these activities as completed in the CRM application.
  • Working closely with our distribution partners' sales teams.
  • Improving the visibility of our products in accounts through appropriate merchandising and display building.
  • Increasing consumer trial by conducting sampling activities and festivals.
  • Participating in weekly sales management meetings and feeding our CRM system.
  • Tasting profiles, specifications and pricing (distributor, retail and consumer) for company products and competitive products available in assigned territory.
  • Inventory management at each distributor in your territory along with securing all pre-orders on or before deadline
  • Building and conducting Monthly Business Reviews (MBR) with each distributor every month and Annual Business Plans (ABP's) once a year .
  • Develop Annual Volume Forecast for each distributor territory within your footprint
  • Managing personal Travel & Entertainment budget along with each wholesaler budget

Position Requirements

  • Knowledge of the commercial beer production process for various system of products (IPA, Lager, Sours, etc)
  • Complete understanding of the alcohol beverage regulations as they relate to sales and promotion activities
  • Body of knowledge in "selling skills" curriculum provided by the company
  • Understanding of the sales department policies and procedures in addition to those included in the company handbook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Office 365 applications, CRM, VIP and other required software
  • Ability to drive a car and keep a clean driving record
  • Lots of personality, positive energy and a competitive spirit
