Job Title : Material Handler
Job Location : North Chicago, IL
Job Type : Temp to Hire
Pay : Starting at $ 16.75 (Based on experience)
Shift Structure : Monday-Thursday 2 : 00 pm-10 : 30 pm & Friday 11 am-7 : 30 pm
About the Role :
The job requires the ability to make safe decisions in the moving and handling of hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals.
Must meet all requirements of the Job Functions Analysis (JFA for HR4-E-142DC). This position involves safety-sensitive functions.
General Responsibilities :
- Responsible for the safe handling, storing, labeling, and loading / unloading of materials.
- Maintaining the integrity of materials(s) stored in the warehouse.
- Pulling chemicals and components per special instructions on Picking Lists.
- Storing materials into various racks, shelves, and floor locations.
- Operating Forklift, Reach Truck, and / or Power Pallet Jack.
- May need to operate drum dollies and manual Pallet jacks.
- Safely loading, unloading, and transporting hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals.
- Will need to safely complete tasks and duties as trained.
- Complete cycle counts as requested and participate in full physical inventories as scheduled.
- Neatly and accurately complete all necessary paperwork applicable to the task.
- Report any safety issues, incidents, and / or safety violations immediately to Management.
- Wear appropriate PPE as required.
Other Duties :
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
- Must complete all machine training offered by the company appropriate to the job function.
- Execution of activities as assigned.
- Responsibilities involving food safety, when required.
- Uniform attire, Uniform attire must be professional- NO sweatpants, shorts, cropped pants or leggings, Jeans only . Tops must be well-fitting, with no excessive skin areas exposed and no inappropriate logos that push an agenda.
Qualifications :
- Basic Math, writing, and reading skills needed.
- Must have at least 2 years of forklift experience.
- Minimally lift 50 lbs. frequently during shift.
