Job Type: Contract (possible extension or convert to hire)
Pay: Starts at $41.00 an hour
Shift Structure: ONSITE, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical/Electrical Engineer to oversee various construction projects involving demolition, wall rearrangement, and facility improvements. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the project, including ordering materials, updating CAD drawings, managing work orders, obtaining bids from contractors, and ensuring compliance with building codes.

• Coordinate and oversee demolition activities and wall rearrangements according to project specifications.
• Order necessary materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery to the construction site.
• Manage work orders, ensuring tasks are assigned and completed efficiently.
• Update CAD drawings to reflect project changes and modifications.
• Obtain bids from contractors and review the drawings they submit to the city for approval.
• Perform firefighting duties, assess any issues that arise, contact vendors for necessary repairs, and monitor vendor activities while onsite.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of building codes, including IMC/IPC/IBC codes, and ensure compliance throughout the construction process.

About You: The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
• at least 5 years of experience in HVAC, fire protection, and facility construction.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, including IMC/IPC/IBC codes.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also being self-motivated and capable of working independently.
• Willingness to sit for extended periods while reviewing project documentation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel and Microsoft Project.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
• Open to candidates with a master's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering and 3-5 years of solid relevant experience
