Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Manager Finance (the “Manager”) leads a dedicated team of professionals ensuring that the accounting for all accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions are recorded in a proper and timely manner. The incumbent’s team will look to them from guidance in collecting from our governmental and corporate customer base. The incumbent will work with the director and finance and others to ensure accurate cash forecasting.

Direct reports to the Manager will include: Lead Financial Services Associate (1), Financial Services Associates (2), Associate Accounting Administrators (3), and Finance and Account Support II (1).

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with senior management to ensure that the cash processes are handled with a superior focus on delivering at the pace to move the company forward
  • Take the lead in the implementing process improvements to make the team and it outputs more efficient and effective
  • Inspire those you lead to give a vision to the team of the importance of their roles in the company and the vital role your team has in the health of the company
  • Organize the team’s efforts to maximize the responsiveness on all matters accounts payable and accounts receivable to maintain a strong working relationships with all vendors and customers
  • Lead the team described above in collection efforts to ensure that the company collects all accounts receivable due to it
  • Setting objectives, coaching, reviewing and training of the Financial Services team
  • Other duties as assigned

The Individual

Education/Experience:

  • Business diploma/degree is required
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience
  • Experience with leading a team in collections
  • SAP knowledge is desirable but not required
  • MS Office and advanced Excel skills

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Commitment to recruiting, mentoring, training, and retaining a diverse team; the foresight and ability to delegate accordingly
  • Keen analytical, organizational and problem solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management
  • Ability and desire to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance managers

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to supervise a staff of 7 professionals
