As a Business Management Team member, you would assist in managing the profitability of a specific category in our business. Whether it is bacon, ham, fresh pork or another one of our categories you will work cross-functionally with everyone from our sales team to our plant operations to deliver the best product to our customers and consumers in a temporary capacity. The Associate Business Manager is responsible for the day-to-day execution of the annual business plan including but not limited to managing the profit/loss for an assigned product group and/or brand; acts as a liaison between operations, sales, and marketing functions; leads forecasting efforts with demand and supply planning teams for respective product group and/or channel. This role is involved in all activities regarding trade and business management to help drive top line sales growth for assigned channels. . Core Responsibilities Develops and maintains documentation that clearly defines parameters for retail pricing and promotion for all defined product groups. Assists in the management of trade spending targets at the planning account level and day-to-day management of P&L and volume plans for assigned channel and brands. Participates in field trade planning meetings to gain consensus with field sales. Assists the sales team to provide brand training and creates sales presentations that provide solutions to business issues that face our customers. Assists the Business Management team in managing product mix to optimize gross margins, monitoring trade spends and works closely with Sales to gain an understanding of risk and opportunities for current volume calls. Assists the Business Management team to help forecast trade spend on SKU’s on a monthly basis; works closely with Finance to ensure forecasted trade spending is accurate and future forecasts are up-to-date. Collaborates with Marketing and R&D on the development and execution of new products and cost savings initiatives and new business opportunities. Participates in cross-functional meetings; ensuring representation of both business and sales. Assists the Business Management team by working with Demand & Supply Planning to ensure accurate forecasting and deployment of product. Assists the Business Management team in monitoring the marketplace for opportunities to take pricing; participates in regular account sales calls where needed. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business or related field and 2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required. Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching or mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing a process or project. Knowledge of the dynamics of the Consumer-Packaged Goods industry, preferred. Knowledge of customer focused and fact-based selling, which may include IRI, Neilsen and Perishable Group data, preferred. Strong quantitative reasoning and ability to proactively dig into data and KPIs. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. High level of written and verbal communication skills, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint. SAP experience, preferred. May travel up to 30% of the time. Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment. Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
