• Part-Time Hourly Maintenance Starting Pay $20.55 - $29.35.
• $1.10/hr shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift 

Smithfield – is currently looking for a Part-Time Plant Maintenance Technician for our facility in Sioux Falls, SD. We are a large manufacturing facility with over 3,400 employees located in a community renowned as one of the best places to live and work in the United States. Core Responsibilities

Responsibilities and tasks are written as follows:

• Demonstrate strong safety leadership skills and follow safe work practices
• Work as part of a team to plan and conduct equipment repairs.
• Conduct routine audits and equipment inspections.
• Maintain open and professional line of communication with operations.
• Respond to unplanned/emergency work requests in a timely & effective manner.
• Follow food safety and good manufacturing practices.
• Be highly motivated and able to work independently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1 years of related experience and/or training in an industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing environment; or 4 years’ direct experience in an industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing maintenance environment.
• Vocational Diploma, Technical Diploma or Associate's Degree from a technical maintenance or vocational school, a plus.
• Possess the ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact productively with all levels of team personnel and outside contractors.
• Ability to operate a forklift, genie lift or scissor lift.
• Can understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to read, write the following; work orders, instructions, daily reports and machine manuals.
• Ability to receive and relate orders/information using various communication devices.
