JOB DESCRIPTION: The Service Engineer position is an engineering position in our Waco office. The job entails working on municipal aftermarket pumps, services including field testing, repairs, refurbishments, and new equipment for projects located in Texas and Oklahoma. This position supports the Company’s sales force through joint sales calls, pump application, pump repair analysis, field engineering/testing, project management, and estimating.
The goal for this position is to be a training and investment in an employee to move into a Project Manager role.
This is a hands on, and in the field based role. There is significant travel expectations for overnight travel throughout the state of upwards of 4-5 nights away.

SCOPE: The Service Engineer performs many of the duties that a Project Manager would, including design, engineering, estimating, project management and purchasing activities for existing pump systems. Identifies innovative solutions and approaches to execution and delivers projects on time, and within resource and budget constraints. Examines ways to support customer needs while meeting business objectives and stays engaged with the operations group throughout the process.

The Service Engineer also conducts field performance testing of new or repaired pump equipment or systems, from installation to implementation. Conducts field condition assessments to provide technical customer support and add value. Improves processes in order to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, enhance sustainability and maximize profitability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Language Skills

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, financial reports, and legal documents.

• Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers.

• Ability to write detailed correspondence and reports that conform to prescribed style and format.

• Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to top management and customers.

• Mathematical Skills

• Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.

• Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

• Reasoning Ability

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

• Computer Skills

• Applicants should have strong computer skills in 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools (e.g., CAD, Solidworks or similar)

• Applicants should be competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and Project software.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related field (or pursuing)
