Maintenance Technician

Department: Facilities Maintenance Job Status: Full-Time

JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine HVAC-refrigeration, building and equipment repairs, mechanical and electrical troubleshoots, and plumbing tasks to ensure they are in good working order at all times within assigned restaurants.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Provide hands-on maintenance to all restaurants; perform minor plumbing and electrical work.

· HVAC maintenance and repairs.

· Hot and cold kitchen equipment maintenance and repairs and assist with new equipment installation.

· Provide scheduled preventative maintenance and repair services to all restaurants in assigned region.

· Communicate effectively with Maintenance and Operations leaders on the status of repair situations and anticipated completion of all maintenance and repair projects.

· Support outside contractors as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· High diploma or equivalent required

· Technical training in skilled trades including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC

· Minimum three to five years of facilities maintenance experience, preferably in a restaurant environment

QUALIFICATIONS

· Environment Protection Agency (EPA); Type II or III certification

· HVAC and refrigeration certification in relation to restaurant equipment systems

· Ability to maintain and repair various types of electrical equipment

· Must be self-disciplined, highly organized, responsive, and possess the ability to take initiative in dealing with routine issues as they are discovered

· Ability to multi-task, manage time and work independently

· Must be able to work flexible hours as needed and available for emergency on-call

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

· Must be able to climb ladders and work at elevations up to 25 feet.

· Exposure to some risk of injury or physical harm from on-site environments and a moderate degree of discomfort from year-round weather conditions.

· Jobs frequently require standing, walking, and reaching.

· Jobs occasionally requires sitting, talking, hearing, and handling objects with hands.

· Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
