SMHG Management LLC is Hiring a SkyLodge Line Cook Near Eden, UT

Description

 Skylodge Line Cook will be responsible for the preparation, cooking and serving of food including the organization, cleanliness and safety of the kitchen and workspace. This role will provide the highest level of service in an open kitchen environment. We ask all team members of Skylodge to provide a hospitable experience.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all station mise en place, cook and plate dishes accurately according to recipe descriptions. 
  • Set up respective station and kitchen line in an organized and timely manner. 
  • As this is an open kitchen and food will be prepared in front of guests, all BOH staff should maintain a clean and organized workstation area at all times as well as kitchen equipment and uniform. 
  • Should be comfortable adapting to any additional tasks assigned by the Sous Chef or Executive Chef. 
  • Maintain flexible work hours to assist with all areas of F&B for the Membership program while still ensuring ability to assist with service when necessary. 
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with all FOH and BOH team members. 
  • Work with guest chefs to provide a hospitable experience and cultivate an environment of learning from them, incorporating any and all relevant techniques.
  • Assist in maintaining a full menu by taking station inventory daily and communicating any ordering needs. 
  • Assist in preparation of daily family meal.
  • Will report to the Executive Chef and Sous Chef 

Job Performance Expectations:

  • Create an extraordinary culinary experience for the neighbors, accommodating special requests, dietary preferences and allergies. 
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills. 
  • Plan and execute daily operations under the direction of the kitchen management team. 
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance and spotless work areas.
  • Ensure employee and company confidentiality is maintained at all times. 
  • Be receptive and responsive to team member and management communications. 
  • Knowledge and Ability to operate all kitchen equipment and experience working all restaurant stations. 
  • Must have excellent knife skills and a good understanding of different techniques. 
  • Must have a good understanding of the flow of service and have excellent time management when setting stations up for service. 

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Must have sufficient knife skills and strong understanding of different cooking techniques. 
  • Advanced culinary skills including food preparation, flavor pairings and other cooking best practices. In-depth knowledge of federal, state and local food handling regulations. 
  • Experience with healthy, sustainable cooking as well as all basic dietary restrictions. 
  • Ability to follow training programs and recipes to maintain a high standard of work.
  • 3 years experience in fast-paced professional kitchens.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, crawl, stand for long periods of time, lift up to 50 pounds regularly, taste, smell, and exhibit advanced knife skills. 
  • Exceptional communication and follow through verbally and in writing. Ability to constructively and positively process criticism and feedback. 
  • Flexibility and adaptability to special requests. 

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to: 

  • Full range of body movements 
  • Reach, push, pull, lift, and carry objects that may be heavy (40 lbs) 
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, and twisting 
  • Vision requirements – close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception 
  • Walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain 
  • Climb/descend stairs 
  • Manual dexterity to operate vehicles safely on a constant basis 
  • Frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and make repetitive hand movements 

Work Environment: 

Work is primarily performed in an indoor environment; exposure to noise, dust, mechanical and electrical hazards, and cleaning chemicals. Occasionally exposed to outdoor climate in which team member will be exposed to a variety of temperatures/weather.
