Who We Are Looking For

Engineers have worked for centuries to solve some of life’s greatest challenges through innovative solutions: the suspension bridge, the world wide web, and the handheld tape dispenser thing that makes it easier to wrap presents. Engineers at Smarty help solve complex business problems, with slightly different applications.

Luckily for you, we have an immediate opening for a Senior Frontend Software Engineer to join our top-notch team! You'll need strong skills in producing and implementing functional software solutions. You will work closely with a stellar team of software engineers to build and maintain stunning front-end applications. You'll be at the forefront of innovation in location data intelligence, creating meaningful experiences for customers while learning the answers to life, the universe and everything.

** This role is onsite, non-remote, in our Provo office. **

What You Need To Get The Job Done

Requirements:

• 7-10 years of software development experience
• Mastery of modern JavaScript, CSS/SCSS, HTML
• Extensive experience building beautiful, highly interactive user interfaces
• Strong understanding of mainstream JavaScript frameworks and libraries (bonus points for experience with React.js)
• Understanding of effective software design patterns and development best practices (i.e. you're a pro at writing clean code)
• Familiarity with Webpack, node.js, npm, and similar technologies
• Experience building and maintaining API-driven web applications (JAMstack)
• Ability to break down complex problems into smaller tasks while working independently and/or as part of a team to produce solutions
• Comfortable working autonomously while seeing projects through from inception to completion
• Analytical mind with problem solving attitude
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Strong (but humble) mentoring skills. You love to share your knowledge with others almost as much as you love when they share theirs with you
• Have fun! Working hard and mastering your craft should never feel like a chore. You love to embed fun into everything you do

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with others to develop high-quality, high-performance software, and serve as a technical expert on development projects
• Research and innovate to help us take our apps to the next level (e.g. evaluate new technologies, automate common tasks, etc.)
