JOB DESCRIPTION:

Smart Commercial Construction, Co. is a design-build commercial construction company dedicated to achieving a high level of client satisfaction in a timely fashion. Established in 2013 after many years of experience in the residential and commercial sectors, the company recognized a demand for a commercial product with more finesse than what typically exists in the commercial construction marketplace.

A Commercial Construction Estimator plays a key role in analyzing a project’s details, blueprints, specifications, and schedule to deliver precise estimates for commercial construction projects. The preferred candidate is self-motivated with knowledge of the construction process, possesses exceptional analytical skills, and collaborates effectively with their team, diverse clients, and trade partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze project specifications, blueprints, deadlines, and other relevant documents to gain a thorough understanding of the project requirements.
• Communicate with clients, project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to accurately calculate costs of materials, equipment, and labor to complete a construction project.
• Generate bid packages that include detailed documentation of project specifications, requirements, and contractual terms.
• Evaluate cost estimates, bid proposals, regulations, requirements, and administrative costs to minimize errors.
• Provide insights into cost-saving measures and potential value engineering options to enhance project feasibility.
• Utilize industry-standard estimating software and tools to ensure accurate and precise calculations.
• Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that align with project specifications and client expectations.
• Maintain detailed records of cost estimates, bid proposals, and relevant project documentation.
• Develop positive relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Stay informed about advancements in construction technology, materials, and methodologies to enhance estimating skills.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 years of estimating experience is preferred but not required
• A valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check
• Analytical and mathematical skills
• Technical computer skills
• Attention to detail
• Organizational and note taking skills
• Oral and written communication skills
• Maintain a good work ethic and positive attitude
• Self-motivated with a desire to achieve goals and complete tasks
• Understanding of code requirements and safety guidelines
