Accounting Specialist Job Description

Summary: The SLIPNOT Accounting Specialist is responsible for assisting the Finance team with the daily operations within the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Creating and updating standard work instructions for Finance department.
• Coordinating accounting functions and programs.
• Assisting with annual audit preparations.
• Preparing monthly journal entries and reports.
• Performing other accounting duties and supporting financial staff as required or assigned.
• Professionally interacting with leadership team, customers and vendors.

Required qualifications:

• Basic understanding of accounting rules and procedures including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Tech savvy – intermediate Excel skills including ability to perform complex formulas, creating pivot tables and VLOOKUP function.
• Experience working within general ledger systems and ability to work within the Company’s ERP system (Business Central).
• Ability to work independently with strong analytical and math skills.
• Entry level accounting experience working in a corporate manufacturing setting.
• Must possess a ‘can do’ attitude and willingness to work under tight deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
