Slick Career is Hiring a Material Handler Near Sugar, TX
Global oilfield services company is seeking to immediately hire an Material Handler. This material handler will work in all areas of material handling and distribution including unloading, distribution, output documentation, delivery, locating, interpreting information, separating duties, packing, assembly of kits for manufacturing within one of the following areas: parts room, warehouse, shipping/receiving.
This position will start off as a contract position, with intention to convert to a permanent position within 2-3 months. Once converted to permanent, full benefits will then be available.
If selected for this position, candidates must be available to interview on Thursday, December 15th at the designated location in Sugar Land, TX. You will be given a scheduled interview time prior to your arrival.
Location: Sugar Land, TX
Salary: $20.00 / hour
Position Type: Contract to Hire
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Responsibilities:
- Unloading, distributing, output documentation, delivery, locating, interpreting information, separating duties, packing, and assembly of kits for manufacturing.
- Check incoming deliveries to make sure all ordered material meets quality standards
- Load and unload packages
- Create labor records for all transactions
- Complete accurate cycle counting
- Perform a normal range of duties connected with the packing of various screens to obtain and maintain protection in storage and in transit. Extended knowledge and the ability to perform all jobs in the shipping area. Continued cross-training as new requirements within the department are identified and implemented.
- Perform preventative maintenance on machines using written instructions and checklist.
Requirements:
- Previous warehouse experience is ideal, but will consider entry level candidates
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be able to complete and pass a physical agility test, which will includes carrying up to 25-50 lbs of weight from the floor to your waist, and walking with the weight for a short duration of time.
- This company has a very comprehensive drug testing requirement, including urine and hair follicle testing. Please note that although marijuana use may be legal in your area, if there has been ANY use within the past 6 months, the hair follicle test will detect it, your job offer will be cancelled, and you will never be able to work for this company in the future. Please do not apply if you cannot meet this requirement.
