GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education Requirement(s): A Bachelor’s degree and three years of related experience in the field of Intellectual/Developmental Disability (IDD) services. Five years of related field experience may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
    • Education Preferences: Preference may be given to an applicant with formal education in the area(s) of health services, case management, and/or rehabilitation counseling.
  • Experience Requirement(s): A minimum of three years of related experience in the field of IDD services (five years’ experience if no Bachelor’s degree).
    • Experience Preferences: Preference may be given to an applicant with experience in the area(s) of health service coordination and/or case management.
  • Supervisory Experience Requirement(s): N/A
    • Supervisory Experience Preferences: Preference may be given to applicant with supervisory experience related to coordination and oversight of health services programs, medical transportation, and/or case management.
  • Certification Requirement(s): N/A
    • Certification Preferences: Preference may be given to an applicant with certification(s) in a health-related field.
  • Driver’s License Requirement(s): Valid Kansas driver’s license is required.
  • Insurance Requirement(s): Must qualify for company insurance coverage.
  • Reading & Writing Ability Requirement(s): Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents, as well as to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Math Ability Requirement(s): Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure.
    • Computer Skills Requirement(s): A general understanding of how to use basic productivity software, including Microsoft Office, is required; proficiency is preferred.
  • Other Ability Requirement(s): Must be able to interact with physicians, nurses, hospital personnel, social workers, and numerous other health professionals. Must have exceptional time management and communication skills.
Ability to pass all required screening processes is necessary. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
LEADERSHIP - Treat others with courtesy and respect while remaining professional at all times.
CUSTOMER SERVICES - Understand and demonstrate the importance of being on time to appointments and representing SLI in a professional manner at all times.
COMMUNICATION - Communicate with health care providers, families/guardians, other service providers, and SLI staff in a clear, timely, and detailed manner regarding client health needs, appointments, results, and services.
TEAMWORK AND COOPERATION - Work with all SLI staff and other members of clients’ team to ensure the overall health and safety needs of the client are met.
POLICY AND PROCEDURE - Refer to and follow all SLI policies and procedures.
PUBLIC RELATIONS - Represent SLI in a positive and professional manner by arriving to appointments prepared and on time, communicating clearly, and reporting necessary information to all who need to know in order to best support the client.
ATTENDANCE - Must participate in the emergency on-call rotation.
EFFICIENCY AND ORGANIZATION - Must be highly organized, thorough, and detailed with regard to medical orders, documents, reports, and client files.
ADAPTABILITY AND FLEXABILITY - Handle stressful situations and change with an even temperament and flexibility.
JOB SKILLS AND JUDGMENT - Provide transportation to and from medical appointments in a safe manner following SLI policies and procedures and all Kansas driving laws at all times.
TRAINING - Complete required orientation and training in a timely manner.
