Electrical Foreman

Responsibilities

A leader and roll model to employees, fully embracing the

Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to assigned employees on the safe operation of equipment and tools and work techniques necessary to complete work assignments

Scheduling equipment and supplies related to project activities

Establish and adjust timelines to meet the construction schedule for the project

Organize and maintain project materials and equipment

Read and interpret Specifications, contract documents, plans, and prepare sketches of proposed work as well as producing layout drawings and code calculation for project blueprints, sketches, and diagrams

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with General Contractors and other trades on the project

Communicate clearly and efficiently between Project Manager and crew

Analyze and resolve any issues that may arise and ensure corrections are made in a timely manner

Enforce safety and work performance standards and regulations

Complete task on time based on estimated time of completion

Apprentice mentor – take time to work with apprentices and advance their skill sets

Follows safety procedures – embraces the culture and positively promotes safety

Vehicle maintenance within allowable parameters- oil changes, tires, lights

Proper scheduling of maintenance with sufficient notice of upcoming needs

Mathematics- Using mathematics to solve problems

Reading Comprehension- Understanding written English sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents

Speaking- Talking to others to convey information effectively

Systems Evaluation- Identifying measures or indicators of performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance

Time Management- Managing one's own time and the time of others

Pace and Scheduling - Description of the role that time plays in the way the worker performs the tasks required by this job

Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures

Estimate material or worker requirements to complete jobs

Supervise, coordinate, or schedule the activities of construction or extractive workers

Confer with managerial or technical personnel, other departments, or contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities

Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities

Order or requisition materials or supplies

Record information, such as personnel, production, or operational data on specified forms or reports

Assign work to employees, based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs

Analyze worker or production problems and recommend solutions, such as improving production methods or implementing motivational plans

Suggest or initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, or hires

Inspect work progress, equipment, or construction sites to verify safety or to ensure that specifications are met

Basic Hand Tools

Qualifications

Valid driver’s license

Ability to pass preemployment and random drug test

State of Michigan Journeyman or Master electrical license

High School Diploma - or the equivalent (for example, GED)

Building and Construction - Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction of buildings, electrical equipment, industrial processes, or other structures as necessary

Active Learning- Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making

Active Listening- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times

Learning Strategies- Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things

Writing- Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience

Complex Problem Solving- Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions

Pay: $29.45 - $37.00 per hour
