Intake Coordinator

Duties:

- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies
- Verifies insurance and eligibility of benefits per established procedures and processes.
- Conduct intake interviews with patients to gather necessary information for their medical records

- Enter patient information into the electronic medical records system accurately and efficiently

- Schedule appointments and follow-up visits for patients

- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations

- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth patient flow and coordination of care

Experience:

- Previous experience working in a hospice office or medical office or healthcare setting preferred

- Proficiency in using HospiceMD.

- Knowledge of medical record systems and electronic health records (EHR)

- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
