Summary

Primarily responsible for wire feed (MIG) and TIG welding tasks to fulfill requests for Skyline product within established quality standards.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding to complete assigned work orders.
• Check priority orders, verify materials are on hand, check prints and assemble according to print requirements.
• Run robotic welding machine to complete assigned work orders.
• Finalize paperwork as required by the work order.
• Record and dispose of scrap. Maintain a clean work area on a daily, ongoing basis.
• As work load requires, may be asked to complete non-standard hand welding tasks.
• Perform routine, ongoing maintenance of welding equipment. Proactively troubleshoot larger mechanical issues and bring them to the attention of Group Lead or Supervisor for repair.
• Assist other areas within Fabrication as required by the business.
• May be asked to assist in other areas of Skyline production as required by the business.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

• Some mechanical ability.
• Problem solving and troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to read and understand blue prints.
• Ability to work effectively independently and with others in a team environment.
• Decision making ability.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of consumable and non-consumable items as a part of the welding process.

Minimum Education/Certification

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Vocational Tech school welding certificate, or equivalent experience.

Minimum Experience

• 2-4 years welding experience. Exposure to cosmetic welding a plus.
• Basic math, computer and counting skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and CAD drawings
• Ability to work within schedules and deadlines.
• Detail oriented.

Equipment and Supplies Used

· Personal computer, including MRP

• Tape measure and caliper (dial and digital)
• Safety gear (i.e. safety glasses, steel toe shoes)
• Wire feed (MIG) welding machine

Physical Requirements

• Lifting 10-50 lbs., over 50 lbs. will be lifted in with assistance.
• Standing 95% of the time
• Bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting and reaching above shoulder level and below knee level.
