    Job Summary:
    Seeking positive, energetic, and creative Orchestra (Strings) Director. This teacher is responsible for conducting the orchestra (strings) at both the junior high school and intermediate (Grades 4-5) building. This includes recruiting new instrumental students, instructing beginning players, teaching the beginning ensemble at the 4th-5th grade site, and conducting the 6th-8th grade orchestra. Travel between buildings is required.
    The instrumental music teacher for orchestra works cooperatively with the band and choral directors.
    District 69 seeks an Orchestra Director who values diversity and is able to integrate students’ cultural, linguistic, and ethnic backgrounds into lessons and performances. Prior experience with successfully including students with disabilities is preferred.
    Performances during the day and night for both buildings are required.
    Qualifications:
    • Illinois Educator License with appropriate endorsement
    • Knowledge and understanding of barriers to educational equity
    • Experience working within an elementary/middle school setting and a diverse (culturally, racially, ethnically, linguistically, etc.) student population
    Fluency in a second language preferred
    Salary:
