Position Overview

This position’s primary responsibility is to independently operate all computer aided design (CAD) systems and peripheral equipment and exercise considerable skill and decision making in the use of graphics commands and preprogrammed material to develop drawings to aid in the design and construction of our projects.

What You'll Do:

• Ability to run a CAD program such as Terra-model, Auto cad, AC Civil 3D, Micro-station or TBC
• Ability to calculate alignments and profiles from documents or digital files
• Understand how to generate line work for use with survey
• Understand and be able to create 3d points and export point files for field Survey use
• Ability to process and verify field data accuracy
• Ability to generate deliverables such as reports or drawings  Other duties as assigned

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to independently calculate quantities
• Ability to independently generate 3D models
• Experience with Trimble survey equipment and field software
• Experience with GPS and Robotic Total stations
• Knowledge of general construction, Roadway, Paving, Bridges, Drainage, etc.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to perform quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines
• Demonstrated proficiency of MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Functions effectively as part of a team
• Dependability
• Ability to understand and follow directions
• Must be well organized
• Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to quickly learn and run new software and updated programs

Education and/or Experience

• Minimum 5 years of survey experience as a Crew chief or Calculation Technician with 2 years of
• CADD experience.
• Some experience in construction stakeout preferred, but not required.
