How you’ll make an impact:

As the Senior Systems Engineer, you will join our dynamic team dedicated to Media Content Engineering. This role is responsible for providing innovative solutions for the Broadcast product team and will be responsible for building and managing systems that directly impact content creation, distribution, and live broadcast. This role will be responsible for delivering products and solutions that directly affect revenue to SiriusXM.

What you’ll do:

• Work with cross-functional teams, Vendors, and stakeholders to understand the requirements and build application and infrastructure systems

• Lead the design and architecture of complex systems and infrastructure.

• Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions to meet project requirements.

• Ensure system designs are scalable, reliable, and secure.

• Create and maintain detailed system documentation, including design documents, installation guides, and operational procedures.

• Install and configure Windows and Linux server operating systems on physical or virtual machines. This includes setting up server roles and features and managing Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.

• Implement and manage Group Policies to control security settings, application deployment, and system configurations across the network.

• Ensure that Windows and Linux servers and workstations are up-to-date with security patches and updates. This involves testing patches in a lab environment before deploying them in production.

• Implement security measures to protect systems and data from threats, including antivirus software, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. Monitor for security breaches and take appropriate actions.

• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on Windows and Linux systems. Provide technical support to end-users and address user-reported problems.

• Work with containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Portainer

• Write scripts (e.g., Bash, Python) to automate routine tasks and system administration processes.

• Use configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet to automate configuration management.

• Deploy and configure VMware vCenter Server, ESXi hosts, and virtual machines (VMs).

• Set up storage, networking, and security configurations for virtualized environments.

• Plan for scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery within the virtualized environment.

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT systems or equivalent, relevant experience.

• 8 years of Enterprise Experience with Windows and Linux Administration

• Experience with Antivirus deployment and management - SentinelOne experience is a plus

• Experience with Vulnerability Management - Tenable Nessus experience is a plus

• Experience with CMDB - ServiceNow is a plus

• Experience with Virtualization, VMware

• Experience with Docker containers and orchestration

• Experience with Cisco UCS is a plus

• Experience with scripting skills like Bash, Python, Powershell

• Must be highly self-motivated and able to work independently

• Ability to work as part of a team of different subject matter experts as well as supervise others in design and implementation

• Motivated to keep pace with rapidly evolving broadcast and IT technologies

• Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication, organizational, and leadership skills

• Ability to multitask, shift priorities, and be willing to adapt or improve

• Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic

• General proficiency and working knowledge in all areas of media engineering

• Availability to travel for assignments at remote company locations

At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $100,000 to $143,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
