Position Overview:
The Sleep Center Coordinator works under thedirection of the Service Line Practice Administrator. This position works with the Sleep Centerpatients, staff and sleep providers to insure optimal scheduling, billing,reporting and patient care is performed. The Sleep Center Coordinator must haveexcellent communication skills and possess the ability to communicateeffectively in person, in groups, via telephone and relate well with all. Must have a history of demonstrated abilityto accomplish detailed tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Must have excellent organization skills,familiarity with sleep medicine, be able to problem solve and work withmultiple provider offices. Must have theability to think critically and work well independently and as a team member

Education:High school diploma or equivalent required.

Certification:Certified Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in sleep medicine preferred. Minimum of two (2) years’ progressively responsible medical office experience preferred.

Reportsto:
Service Line Practice Administrator
Supervises:
Sleep Center staff in the absence of the Service Line Practice Administrator.
Physical Demands:
Work is moderately active: involves sitting with frequent requirements to move about the office move about the facility, and to travel to another facility within the SRHS service area. Work involves exerting a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Work involves using repetitive motions: substantial movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers while operating standard office equipment such as computer keyboard copier and 10‐
key.
Work involves being able to perceive the nature of sound at normal speaking levels with or without correction; the ability to make fine discriminations in sound. Work requires close visual and acuity and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus, i.e. shift gaze from viewing a computer monitor to forms/printed material that are closer to compare data at close vision. Must maintain a professional appearance that best represents SRHS.
Must be able to travel between sleep medicine provider clinics and sleep center.
Mental Demands:
Must demonstrate keen mental faculties/assessment and decision making abilities. Must demonstrate superior communication/speaking/enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone. Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. Medical terminology preferred.
Attention to detail and the ability to multi‐task in complex situations is required. Must have the ability to maintain collaborative and respectable working relationships throughout SRHS and other organizations to include: nursing services, physicians and patients. Must be able demonstrate courtesy and patience when dealing with patients and others. Strong grasp of the English language, including professional written and oral communication skills and the proper use of grammar. Must possess emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels. Must demonstrate ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and multi-task. Must have knowledge of office procedures and equipment.
Special Demands:
Must have excellent telephone skills. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment. Must be able to work independently with minimal direction. Must possess superior customer service skills and professional etiquette. Must possess proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.), MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Job requires traveling throughout the SRHS service area – with the employee providing his/her own transportation. Must have a valid driver license.
