We are seeking one responsibility, integrity, accountability candidate as Quality Inspector working with us in Vandalia, Ohio, who reads and follows work instructions, drawings or inspection instructions, checklists, and hand tools to inspect cable and PCB assemblies visually and physically to manufacturing and industry specifications including IPC-A-620, IPC-A-610, assembly prints and related reference documents and standards. The inspector also needs to monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures sometimes and conducts incoming inspection as required on critical parts. Communicates effectively with assemblers, engineers, and management when resolving quality issues.

DUTIES:

  • Conduct thorough visual inspections of cables, harnesses, PCBAs, sub-assemblies, and systems or units, ensuring adherence to established specifications for reliability and workmanship.
  • Utilize a range of tools such as gages, templates, microscopes, and manufacturing aids to verify compliance with reliability and workmanship specifications.
  • Possess expertise in inspecting soldered and crimped connections on cables according to IPC-A-620 standards.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and proficiency in interpreting drawings, diagrams, parts lists, IPC manuals, revision control, reference documents, and work instructions.
  • Record all quality data accurately and promptly in the designated electronic or manual systems.
  • Provide timely feedback to the manufacturing team in cases where non-conforming products are identified.
  • Demonstrate effective and diplomatic communication with assemblers, test technicians, engineers, customers, and management while resolving quality issues.
  • Complete all administrative activities associated with quality inspection with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Display proficiency in using computers and MRP interfaces to access quality and inspection-related documents.

All manufacturing processes, customer names and contacts, and cost information are kept confidential to those outside of the company, unless specifically requested to be disclosed by management.

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE:

Timeliness, efficiency, and effectiveness as it relates to all duties. Active internal and external customer communications and cooperation. Follow all applicable procedures and work instructions.

QUALIFICATION:

  • Has a strong background in the manufacturing process of cables, PCBAs and subassemblies.
  • IPC Certification desired
  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Six Sigma Experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma
  • 1 to 2 years of Quality experience, preferably in a cable/harness/PCBA facility
  • Effective written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills in teamwork
  • Office Skills: data entry, spreadsheets, manufacturing system software.

Work Environment: This role primarily operates in a production environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
