Systems Engineer

SimVentions is a 100% employee-owned business and has consistently been voted one of Virginia's Best Places to Work. We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team! This position requires knowledge of SE and test processes, Oracle PL/SQL applications and scripting, data migration and validation, and workflow management best practices. Candidates must be able to identify, pursue, and complete program priorities with minimal oversight. This position also requires the ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Derive and maintain system requirements
  • Develop test cases for requirement verification
  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (Test Planning through Reporting)
  • Identify and remediate bug fixes within Oracle PL/SQL applications
  • Draft SQL scripts as needed or work with DBA to develop more complicated scripts
  • Review Integrated Digital Environment (IDE) platform after upgrades to ensure IDE configurations are as expected
  • Support eventual data migration to cloud-based platforms

Required Skills & Experience:

  • US Citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance
  • 5-10 years of systems engineering experience
  • Ability to draft and manage system requirements
  • Familiarity with PL/SQL and Oracle applications
  • Demonstrated ability to identify pursue, and complete program priorities with minimal oversight
  • Experience organizing and executing system test events
  • Experience configuring systems to meet user needs

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience performing IDE upgrades
  • Experience with the Naval Systems Engineering Resource Center (NSERC)
  • Experience with SharePoint development

Education: A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline is preferred

Clearance: A Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.

The projected annual compensation range for this position is $90,000 - $140,000 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
