The Senior .Net Developer role is a member of IT Application team, developing in both desktop applications and Website applications and associated systems. This position plays a critical role in the implementation and enhancement of our systems using industry best practices and design patterns; guiding solutions through to their completion and ultimately supporting these systems in production. This position will be fully involved in business requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, and implementation of new features and enhancements to these systems. Strong mastery of C#, Asp.net framework and IIS configuration, JavaScript library knowledge such as React.js, and strong knowledge of MS SQL including server are required. Also needed are experience with Git version control, Jenkins automation build/test/deploy tool, and the JIRA bug tracking system. Confluence documentation experience is also required. Knowledge of Aras PLM is a plus. In addition, this position requires the building of strong working relationships with internal business stakeholders, the technology team and consultants. Being able to share and communicate ideas both orally and in writing. A strong understanding of Microsoft Asp.Net application design concepts and Cloud knowledge is required. This position reports to the Director, Customer & Web Applications. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time) Work with business stakeholders to understand business processes and requirements. Develop new features based on the business requirements. Work in Microsoft asp.net web application, desktop application, JavaScript application and the engineer Data Hub system. Work with other technical subject matter experts to develop strategy for sustainable and flexible application system and data system to meet both immediate and long-term business needs. Develop technology specifications. Apply architectural and engineering concepts to design solutions that meets operational requirements - such as scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, extensibility, flexibility, availability and manageability. Ensure adoption of best practices and standards for development, support, quality control and documentation. (40%) Provide technical guidance to coach and mentor domestic/offshore team members on .net coding, JavaScript coding, system design, performance tuning and troubleshooting. Ability to gain buy-in on proposed solutions. Assist in Service Management policy and processes to effectively support the production systems. Follow support processes including Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Knowledge Management and Performance Management. Review the ongoing implementation solution for improvement opportunities. (30%) Develops technical standards such as coding standard, best practice guidelines, and solution diagrams. Ensures the standards are adhered to change control processes. (20%) Works with partners and vendor organizations and provides oversight on technical deliverables. Ensures that we have consistency across all our processes. Ensures that work provided by partners meets Simpson’s internal standards, and is ultimately accountable for the solutions delivered. DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE If you can do everything listed above, you’ve got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too: B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related technical field is required. M.S. degree is a plus. Experience with developing ASP.NET, Windows framework, Java API framework, MS SQL in client server environment is preferred. 7 years’ experience in design and development of server side applications and Middleware systems required. Expertise in System Analysis, Documentation and Technical Specifications writing. 5 years’ experience in working with JavaScript library required. Have good understand of modern JavaScript programming technology/architecture, such as React.js implementation to build rich interactive user interface. 7 years’ experience in ASP.NET framework development, IIS platform, Windows Server management. Good knowledge in relational database, such as MS Database or MYSQL database, or unstructured database, such as Mongo DB required. 3 years’ experience in Web service API design and implementation. Good knowledge in SOAP/REST Web service required. Technical Expertise Good knowledge of C#, Asp.net, OO/SOA programming and multi-thread programming. Experience with JavaScript framework, especially React.js also necessary. Experience in working with Aras system is a big plus. Rich experience with Asp.net design pattern, especially MVC Good experience in building framework. Good knowledge with relational database or No-SQL Database. Such as MS SQL, My SQL or Mongo DB. Git source control system. Manufacturing company experience Domestic and international implementation experience. Teamwork Self-starter who demonstrates creativity in solving problems or generating improvement ideas Able to prioritize competing or conflicting requests Must exhibit strong communication skills Supports and maintains positive attitude and vision with peers, associates, team members and management Travel This position requires domestic and international travel up to 10% of the time. Work Status & Location This full-time, exempt position is located in Pleasanton, CA. Relocation Relocation is not available for this position.
