The Solar Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosis, service, maintenance, and warranty work on residential and commercial PV systems. The ideal candidate will be self motivated, have the necessary critical thinking skills to troubleshoot & diagnose solar and electrical issues, along with strong organizational and customer service skills.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose & repair issues with mechanical and electrical PV components in a safe & efficient manner
• Perform maintenance inspections of mechanical & electrical components
• Perform start-up and commissioning for new PV components
• Power, set all required parameters and ensure proper operation
• Assist with warranty claims by providing supporting testing evidence to manufacturers
• Maintain high customer satisfaction levels by providing excellent customer service
• Assist with tool management and maintenance of company vehicles

Required Skills:

• General understanding of electrical theory
• Experience using multi-meter
• Possess critical & analytical thinking skills
• Comfortable climbing & working from ladders - must be able to carry 50 lbs. up a ladder
• Comfortable working on rooftops (all types) & working in crawlspaces
• Comfortable working outside in inclement weather
• Ability to understand and follow OSHA & company safety protocols
• Be customer-oriented with a professional & positive demeanor
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-driven, highly motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
• Strong desire to be a team player and work in a collaborative environment

Preferred Experience:

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
• NABCEP certification
• Journeyman Electrician License
• Electrical experience and / or knowledge of electrical theory
• Roof work or general construction experience

This position requires travel to local and regional in state locations and will require a clean driving record. Company vehicle will be provided.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
