Job Title: Senior Software System Engineer

Job Description: SimIS seeks a Senior Software System Engineer to support the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Unified Platform program office (UP). AFLMC/UP is responsible for developing and sustaining a cloud-based platform that enables cyber operations across the Department of Defense (DoD). UP provides USCYBERCOM Operational Forces a Joint cyber operations infrastructure enabling full spectrum cyberspace operations at the operational through tactical levels of warfare as part of USCYBERCOM’s Joint Cyber Warfighting Architecture (JCWA). The Senior Software System Engineer maintains broad and extensive knowledge of engineering and computer programming languages and principles, modern techniques, and established engineering practices/procedures.

Duty Requirements: 

• Responsible for the development of information systems by studying operations; designing, developing, and installing IT Service software solutions.

• Responsible for the collection and prioritization, design, coding, debugging, testing, and documentation of SW projects.

• Experience with DoD policies for data privacy, cybersecurity, ICAM, and Zero Trust.

• Experience working with Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA), web protocols and APIs, interoperability standards and specifications (e.g., SCORM, xAPI, cmi5, Learning Activity Metadata), cloud server configuration and server stacks, containerization, routine web security and identity, web development languages, mobile development, web user interfaces, linked data, and semantic markup (Resource Description Framework, Web Ontology Language).

Experience Required: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Info technology of related field 

• 5 years’ experience leading and/or managing DevOps/DevSecOps projects

• 5 years’ experience executing/managing in accordance with agile program management principles 

• 5 years’ experience executing/supporting DoD technical Programs. 

• Experience with modern software development processes (e.g., GitHub, DevOps) and AGILE development processes. 

Special Skills/Knowledge/Training Required/Desired: 

• Master’s degree in information technology or cybersecurity is highly desirable. 

• At least one of the following certifications: Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified Developer, Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), Oracle Certified Java Programmer (OCJP), and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). 

• Prior experience working USCYBERCOM and or USAF Cyber is desired but not required.

Contract Specific Requirements: 

Upon award, the contract will have a period of performance of a 12 month base year with 2 twelve month options for a total of 36 months.
