Silver Star Construction, a local road construction company- is seeking a Warehouse Assistant to perform a wide range of duties such as the function of proper ordering, receiving, issuing, and securing of essential parts and equipment-related production support.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing and tracking key performance indicators and ensure equipment reliability is not impacted by spare part issues.
  • Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
  • Continually evaluate potential safety situations and confer with the direct report and Safety Director on corrective measures.
  • Develop and manage the maintenance spare part supply chain process in reference to PM kits.
  • Ensure best practices are in place for part specification, procurement, receipt and incoming inspection/testing, data entry, stocking, and issuance to technician
  • Assists in developing and implementing a vendor review program. Develop alliances and partnerships with key vendors to ensure the best possible pricing, service and support, vendor stocking agreements, and delivery lead times.
  • Develop, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure parts and materials are available as needed to meet production and maintenance needs.
  • Uphold Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Warehouse Procedures for storeroom operations.
  • Research inventory items on a regular basis to ensure the best available pricing and desired quality Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Investigate consignment stocking and other strategies to reduce asset value on storeroom shelves in reference to PM kits, this excludes stock and non-stock items.
  • Assist the Warehouse Supervisor in maintaining a list of critical spare parts in E360 that need to be on hand at all times.
  • Ensure that the value of these parts is not reflected in inventory turn calculations.
  • Interacts with customers to ensure high levels of customer service, alleviating any delays for Maintenance and Operation personnel.
  • Responsible for the security of all inventories.
  • Supports TPR efforts and meetings.
  • Able to create purchase orders and send emails.
  • Move inventory and materials within different locations.
  • Operate heavy machinery, like forklifts or pallet jacks, to move or store inventory.
  • Package items and label correctly.
  • Additional jobs/functions may apply as directed by the Equipment Manager or management.
  • The Warehouse Attendant will fulfill the Warehouse supervisor's responsibilities in the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • Driving Record – (5 points or less) required to be on the Drive List.
  • Education – High school diploma or GED.
  • Verifiable previous warehouse experience or equivalent.
  • Forklift Certified is a plus.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
  • TPR Overview, MRO Training, and HCSS training are required within 12 months of starting this position.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Pays attention to detail and monitors the quality of inventory.
  • Able to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to verbally communicate effectively with crew, fellow workers, and management.

Performs labor incidental to the work of warehouse attendant and other laboring tasks when required. Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk, and climb during the course of the shift. The position occasionally lifts heavy objects. May sit, walk, or stand for long periods of time and perform physical labor. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects; and uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.
