Qualifications:
5 years of previous verifiable Stabilization foreman experience in heavy civil construction projects and heavy equipment operation required.
Driving Record - (5 points or less) required.
OSHA 10, CPR and First Aid certified a plus. OSHA 30 required within 12 months of starting this position
Education - High school diploma or GED and equivalent experience. College a plus
Knowledge of proper use of heavy equipment, materials, and supplies used in heavy civil construction work required.
Able to read and interpret blueprints
Able to understand and follow instructions
Ability to supervise workers operating various pieces of heavy equipment
Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment operated.
Ability to verbally communicate effectively with crew, fellow workers, and management
Flexibility: Ability to work in a number of diverse locations
Good oral and written communication skills - not limited to: cell phone, email, computer, I-pad, etc.
Good leadership skills
Mathematical and mechanical knowledge
Ability to identify deficiencies' and provide suggestions or resolution
Teamwork orientation - balances team and individual responsibilities. Puts success of team above your own

Summary Job Duties / Essential Functions:
Ensure Safety and Quality are the 1st priority on every project.
Immediately report any suspected drug, alcohol, or intoxication to the Safety Director.
Reporting any near miss accidents to the Safety Director
This position is identified as a "safety sensitive position" due to working around heavy equipment and street / highway construction projects.
Assessing job priorities and assigning employees to appropriate job tasks.
Making sure employees have tools and equipment needed for job in order to ensure safety and production.
Operates motor vehicles and heavy equipment necessary for completion of projects.
Performs labor incidental to the work of operating equipment and other laboring tasks when required.
Overseeing the work and making sure it runs smoothly in accordance with the project plan.
Giving clear directions to crews as to what needs to be done to avoid repetitive mistakes, or rework.
Acts as leader and supervisor for crew in road/highway construction, maintenance and repair projects, and other civil infrastructure projects.

Expected Hours of Work & Working Environment:
This is a full-time position. This position frequently requires long hours and weekend work. All days start no later than 7:00 a.m. unless otherwise directed by the Superintendent. Must report to jobsite by required time per Superintendent or management. Regular attendance and punctuality at the workplace are required.
Some night or out of town work could be required.
Disaster/emergency response work could be required. Including overnight work.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to all outside weather conditions including wet and/or humid conditions, very hot (above 90 degrees F) or very cold (below 32 degrees F) temperatures. Frequently exposed to fumes, dust, or airborne particles. Moving mechanical parts and vibration. Requires working in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions. Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are possibly moderate to loud and distracting or uncomfortable. Requires wearing required protective safety equipment.
Travel:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Performs labor incidental to the work of operating equipment and other laboring tasks when required. The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to speak and hear. The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb in and out of equipment, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, walk, and requires repetitive movement. Ascending and descending ladders or stairs is required and movement on uneven terrain is frequently required to carry out essential duties. Driving a vehicle is required. Work in the construction area poses significantly greater risk due to moving construction equipment and active construction zones with trip and fall hazards.
The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job could include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
