Heavy Haul Truck Driver

7820 NW Expressway, Okarche, OK 73762 - USA *Full-Time

Frontier Bridge, a local bridge company - is seeking Heavy Haul Truck Driver (Class A) to haul oversized and/or overweight equipment to and from construction job sites in a safe and effective manner.

Responsibilities:

• Transport Over Dimensional and Over Weight loads
• Inspect truck before and after each shift. (Pre & Post Inspections)
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Report any needed repairs to supervisor
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Operate heavy construction equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with training and manufacturer's instructions
• Ensure cargo is properly loaded and secure according to safety requirements
• Check to make sure loads are within legal height and width. If not, ensure that a permit is obtained.
• Responsible for good housekeeping of equipment
• Must know how to operate multiple types of equipment / vehicles
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must have a Class A CDL
• Driving Record - (5 points or less) required
• At least 2 years of heavy haul experience
• Able to pass background check, DOT drug screen and medical card
• Working knowledge of heavy construction equipment
• Prefer some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Teamwork orientation - balances team and individual responsibilities. Puts success of team above own
• Gives and welcomes feedback
• Contributes to building a positive team spirit
• Time-management - to perform many tasks within a tight deadline and maintain maintenance schedules for all vehicles.

Physical Demands:

• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
• The position requires walking and standing for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects, up to 50 pounds; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. The employee is required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, walk, and requires repetitive movement.
• The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to speak and hear.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job could include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Expected Hours of Work & Working Environment:

• This is a full-time position. This position frequently requires long hours and weekend work. Must report to jobsite by required time per Foreman
• Travel within state of Oklahoma
• Some night and weekend work could be required
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to all outside weather conditions including wet and/or humid conditions, very hot (above 90 degrees F) or very cold (below 32 degrees F) temperatures
